Historical sketch of the Embassy of Qatar to Ukraine

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kyiv was established on August 16, 2013. The Qatari Ambassador arrived on September 7, 2013 and submitted his credentials to the Ukraine’s Special Representative for Middle East and North Africa Affairs on September 11, 2013. He also submitted his credentials to the President of Ukraine on September 13, 2013.

Since its opening in 2013, the Embassy has been working on protecting and promoting interests of the State of Qatar and its citizens’ interests as well as developing economic, political, cultural and other relations with Ukraine through the constant communication with various Ukrainian authorities from the Government, MFA, Parliament and different agencies as well as civil society actors, researchers, thinkers and other active personalities of civil society.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to Ukraine is also doing important work on acquainting Ukrainian people with the State of Qatar and its pivotal role on the international and regional political scene highlighting its efforts in the areas of counter-terrorism, human rights and freedoms protection, and underscoring its relentless efforts within humanitarian projects it submits within development programs of different countries and nations in the context of charitable assistance and relief.

Moreover, since its opening, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Ukraine has been contributing to promoting and supporting cooperation between the State of Qatar and Ukraine, so we can notice qualitative development of these relations in the coordination of positions and efforts in a number of international issues, economic cooperation promotion and commercial exchange between the two states.
